About Our Organization

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation
“Honoring Marines by Educating Their Children™”

Our mission is to provide financial assistance in the form of scholarships for higher education to deserving sons and daughters of Marines and children of former Marines, with particular attention being given to children whose parent was killed or wounded in action. We are proud of our long history and commitment: Since 1962, we have awarded over 24,000 scholarships and bonds totaling $42.5 million, including $3.5 million to over 1,400 students in 2009. We hope you take time to explore our website (www.mcsf.org) and learn more about our mission and scholarship program.

Why Join the MCSF Team? To support our Marine Corps Family.

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation currently awards scholarships based on need. The average family income of the scholarship recipients in 2009 was $44,000. Joining the MCSF Team helps spread the word about the foundation and the money that you help to raise will provide much-needed scholarship assistance to the sons and daughters of Marines and Navy Corpsmen protecting our country, as well as those who have come before them.

The Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation (MCSF) has recently embarked on a historic fundraising campaign. Our goals are to increase our average scholarship award for children of current and former Marines to $5,000 and endow our commitment to award $30,000 in scholarship assistance to every child of a Marine, or of a Navy Corpsman serving with the Marines, whose parent is killed in the Global War on Terror. This comprehensive capital campaign to raise $50 million is entitled the 'American Patriots Campaign'. To date, those that have given their lives are survived by 418 children, creating the need for additional scholarship funds of nearly $12,540,000.

As you begin your training for the Marine Corps Marathon, consider making the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation a part of this plan. Through your investment of time and resources, you will be offering these deserving families a tremendous sense of hope, encouragement and, in many cases, much-needed healing. In doing so, you also can have the confidence that your funds will be spent effectively for the intended purpose of direct scholarship aid.
